Visitors

IT ONLY TAKES AN HOUR!

Visitors matter a great deal.  However, 80% of the people living in nursing homes do not receive even one visitor in a year.  60% will never receive one in their whole life in a nursing home.  This is something you can change for someone with little effort.

St. Lazarus Mission began with one young couple and a newborn baby.  The couple arranged their lives (before the invention of the DVR) around a weekly television sitcom.  One day it dawned on them — they would visit someone in a local nursing home instead of watching that one show.  One hour each week changed everything for them.  You can do the same sort of thing.  Of course different things can be done at different stages in your life.  Nevertheless, at any stage of your life, to get started, you can contact us (fill out the contact us form at the bottom of every page of this site) and we will gladly talk you through the process.  Or, you can call a local nursing home and ask for the Activities Director.  This is the person who will know what is going on in the facility.  Just ask the Activities Director if there is anyone who needs a visitor and you will find yourself welcome most of the time.

It really is this easy to start…

An hour is all it takes!
